What is Gong meditation?

Gong meditation (also known as a Gong Bath) is a complimentary type of sound therapy that has been used as shamanic healing tools and celebration instruments for thousands of years. Today it also has a bit of science to back its usefulness in calming the mind.

Gong Baths work using sounds and vibrations aiding calmness and relaxation. Participants will usually lie flat for 45 minutes to an hour, in a comfortable position while the sound and vibrations of the gong gently fills the room.

What are the benefits of a Gong bath?

Most of us have heard a song or piece of music that has lifted our spirits and given us energy, opened our hearts and spirits and transported us to another place. The Gong is no different and can improve overall wellbeing. We don’t just listen to music with our ears but with our bodies too.

Benefits can include:

  • Stress and anxiety relief

  • An alternative meditation option, ideal for those who struggle with meditation

  • Healing and balancing to help calm and soothe the mind and body

  • Help release blocked energies and emotions

  • Help reach a healing state for body and mind

  • Help reach a better mood

  • Improve sleep patterns

  • Improve focus and clarity

  • Profound physical restoration

  • Release creativity

  • And more…

Music/sound therapy is one of the oldest ways of healing in history. Gong meditation is perfect for all levels of interest for those wishing to calm the mind and spirit and get the harmony of balance back into their lives or even claim a sense of clarity and creativity.

Why not listen and enjoy the sound happening now wherever you are : ) see how it feels

Extract from Gong and its Therapeutic Meaning (link below to source)

Sound healing is based on the assumption that the human body is a set of vibrations that become discordant and lose their rhythm when an illness occurs. In order to understand sound healing better, we need to remind ourselves that atoms, cells and all living matter vibrate. The chosen sound waves enter the body and re-establish balanced waves in the body where these waves have been altered due to health conditions. The vibration or the sound in the audible or inaudible form (ultrasound, infra-sound) represents energy. Sound has a creative force that shapes matter within us and outside of us.
